This place is amazing! Incredible faculty, full spectrum experience, top notch Peds, take care of sick, sick patients on Day 1, such a laid back and friendly vibe, alumni in incredible locations

See all that AZ has to offer, it’s way more gorgeous than you think

Why did you choose UA EM?
I made a detailed checklist of everything I was looking for in a training program and this place fit the bill better than any other. Most importantly, I felt comfortable, like I could 100% be myself here, which I think is incredibly important when considering a learning and working environment. Also, training in multiple environments.
Favorite activity in Tucson?
You can find me outside or at a brewery if I’m in town.
What are your non-medical goals during residency?
Maintain a solid life balance: build lasting friendships, see loved ones as much as possible, travel/explore, and stay fit.

What are your personal interests/hobbies?
I like doing anything outdoors. Especially if it is with my girlfriend. Bonus if dog is also included.
What are your professional interests?
I'm interested in the resuscitation of the undifferentiated "sick" patient as well as airway management.
Why did you choose UA EM?
I chose this program because of the philosophy that starting from the first day of intern year you are encouraged to pick up any patient they comes in the door no matter how sick they are.

Favorite activity would be spending time with friends and family.

What are your personal interests/hobbies?
If it involves a mountain or spending time with my wife, I probably like it: Trail running, mountain biking, road biking, cooking, spending time on rock, beer, and by far and away the #1 is skiing (but that's been a tricky one lately).
What are your professional interests?
EM is a cool job to rest the body between those hard days outdoors. But really, Wilderness and Rural Medicine.
Why did you choose UA EM?
Excellent program, fun people, awesome attendings and except for the lack of skiing, a phenomenal outdoors scene.

Sabino Canyon.
What are your non-medical goals during residency?
Converting a camper van with my wife, and growing a moustache to go with said van… don’t worry, there will be candy and puppies in the back.

What are your personal interests/hobbies?
I enjoy cooking, reading, watching foreign films and documentaries, making music, brewing beer, basically any activity involving water (SCUBA, swimming, oceans/lakes/rivers, boating, etc), and watching sports (especially hockey). Other more specific interests include sharks, geology, meditation, puns/sarcasm.

Why did you choose UA EM?
I did not rotate here but fell in love with the program when I interviewed. It was important for me to be close to my family and I'm glad I found a program that I love and that allows me to stay nearby. I was impressed that this is an academic program that doesn't lose that county feel (especially at South Campus), serves a wide variety of people, and has incredible faculty and fellowship opportunities in just about every field. All the residents were friendly and happy and it was clear that program leadership cares about resident well being. Plus, it turns out that Tucson is a pretty nice place to live.
Favorite activity in Tucson?
I'm going to go the cliche route here and say hiking. But also enjoying all the day trips from the Tucson area has been fun as well (Madera Canyon, Mt Lemmon, Sonoita, Patagonia, Tubac, and more!)
What are your non-medical goals during residency?
Just to grow as a person, explore the area, and make new friends and acquaintances.

I was born in India, but moved to Phoenix when I was 8. Since I was 18, however, I have been in Tucson for Undergrad, medical school, and now residency!
What are your personal interests/hobbies?
I love cooking and eating food. I enjoy fantasy (football), and playing basketball. My friends have all dispersed over the US, so I really like traveling and taking epic vacations.

I really enjoy teaching and ultrasound. And tox. And sports medicine. And critical care.

Best residency in the country, with the coolest faculty that sets you up to succeed.

Eating Mexican food 3 times a day.

It is one of the best programs in the country and it doesn't snow in Tucson.

Why did you choose UA EM?
As a student I felt the U of A residents were very strong, perhaps due to the constant mentorship from their fellows in Critical Care, Ultrasound, EMS, Sports Medicine, etc or from their >50 faculty. I wanted a program that would make me a strong EM physician and ready for any setting.
