• Our Emergency Medicine residency programs combine teaching excellence with clinical training, academic activities and research opportunities.

We are one of the only emergency medicine departments in the nation to offer three distinct emergency medicine residency programs, each with a unique mission, vision and goal.

South Campus Residency

South Campus Residency

South Campus has its own three-year EM residency program, a fast track, and an adjacent acute Behavioral Health / Psychiatric hospital.

University Campus Residency

University Campus Residency

In 1982, our residency program started with six residents per year. Currently we accept 15 residents per year and are nationally ranked among the top programs.

Combined EM & Peds Residency

Combined EM and Peds Residency

The Combined EM & Peds Residency training option was first described in 1988 when both boards agreed to accept training from the opposing specialty, thus allowing a reduction of 12 months in the training process.
