What are your personal interests/hobbies?
Running, hiking, camping, hanging with my family.

Rural medicine, medical education, and medical Spanish.
Why did you choose UA EM?
The UA EM South Campus program offered an amazing opportunity with top quality training, a focus on rural medicine, medical Spanish built into the curriculum, a close-knit family of residents, and an atmosphere of overall resident happiness.
Favorite activity in Tucson?
Sonoran Desert Museum (local food and brewery scene is a close second).
What are your non-medical goals during residency?
Become fluent in Spanish; raise kiddos who appreciate the outdoors, arts, and learning.

What are your personal interests/hobbies?
Spending time with my wife, Laura, and son, Daniel. I also really enjoy working on my house and yard, cooking, and hope to learn to fly.
What are your professional interests?
Sports medicine, public health
Why did you choose UA EM?
Two programs offered the opportunity to work at a large University tertiary care hospital as well as a smaller, community hospital that is still under the same University department, which I think is great. The people in our department were a big factor as well.
Favorite activity in Tucson?
Hiking Mt. Lemmon
What are your non-medical goals during residency?
Mainly to be able to look back on residency and know that I maintained the best work-life balance that I could and really made the most of the three years.

The mild summers. The amazing co-residents.
Favorite activity in Tucson?
Sweating. Also sitting on my back deck with my wife, drinking a beer while watching a thunderstorm roll over Tucson.
What are your non-medical goals during residency?
Buy an old car, say I'll fix it up. When people ask me how it's going I'll grumble something about carburetors and they’ll assume I’m a huge car guy.

What are your personal interests/hobbies?
Basketball, golf, movies, good music, hanging out with friends, being an instagram husband and spouse to a foodie.
What are your professional interests?
All things Emergency Medicine with a particular interest in ultrasound
Why did you choose UA EM?
I chose UA EM because I was interested in the opportunity of learning medicine in both a community and academic setting while enjoying the resources and benefits of both. I appreciate the energy and resources put into the program. I really believe that this a great place to learn EM and to use as a launching point to whatever professional future you envision for yourself. The lifestyle allowed by doing residency in Tucson was also a huge draw for me.
Favorite activity in Tucson?
Golf, which is pretty much a possibility on any day of the year.
What are your non-medical goals during residency?
Maintain a good work-life place, make some meaningful life long relationships, and figure out how to adult before the 3 years are up.

What are your personal interests/hobbies?
I read a lot, spend time outside biking or skiing depending on the weather.
What are your professional interests?
ED Operations and health systems management, Cardiology
Why did you choose UA EM?
The opportunity to train in a primarily community based small ED at South Campus and still have the association with a large academic center. I’m also still amazed how great the people are here.
Favorite activity in Tucson?
I’m still overwhelmed by the mountain biking opportunities here for 9 months a year.
What are your non-medical goals during residency?
Try to maintain some sort of work-life balance.
