Dr. Acuña earned her medical degree from the University of Arizona and completed her Emergency Medicine residency training at Staten Island University Hospital. She subsequently completed a fellowship in Emergency Ultrasound at the University of Arizona. She currently serves as faculty for Emergency Medicine residency program at the University of Arizona, as well for the Emergency Ultrasound fellowship program. She has worked closely with the various colleges at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Campus lecturing on the use of bedside ultrasound, providing hands-ultrasound teaching sessions to students and has been involved in projects to integrate ultrasound education into the core curriculum.
