       The purpose of the competition is to allow residencies to demonstrate their skills and knowledge of point-of-care
       ultrasound. All aspects of ultrasound competence will be assessed, including image acquisition, image interpretation,
       and incorporation into clinical practice.

"Time Makes a Difference to Everyone, Everywhere: Evolving Opportunities in Emergency Care"

Charles B. Cairns, MD, FACEP, FAAEM, FAHA is a nationally recognized leader in emergency medicine and critical care research, and is the Assistant Vice President for Clinical Research and Clinical Trials at the Arizona Health Sciences Center and Interim Dean of the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Tucson, as well as a Professor of Emergency Medicine in the Department of Emergency Medicine.

Robert S. Hockberger, MD, FACEP, is Chair Emeritus of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center and Emeritus Professor of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He is President of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine and a Past-President of the American Board of Emergency Medicine. He is a senior editor for the textbook, Rosen's Emergency Medicine: Concepts and Clinical Practice. He received the Award for Outstanding Contribution to Emergency Medicine Education from the California Chapter of ACEP and the National ACEP Award for Outstanding Contribution in Education.
