Join Us Live From ACEP in Seattle!

The UA Department of Emergency Medicine will be live blogging and posting pictures of the ACEP conference taking place in Seattle from October 14-17. The DEM is also hosting an Alumni Social on Monday, Oct. 14 from 7–10 p.m. in the  Musicquarium Lounge at The Triple Door (216 Union Street, Seattle, WA).


Dr. Art Sanders Elected to Institute of Medicine

Arthur B. Sanders, MD, MHA, professor with the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine - Tucson, has been elected to the prestigious Institute of Medicine of the National Academies.

Dr. Sanders also is a member of the Arizona Emergency Medicine Research Center and the University of Arizona Sarver Heart Center.

Election to the IOM is considered one of the highest honors in the fields of health and medicine and recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding professional achievement and commitment to service.


 

 


New Snake Antivenom Approved

With the approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on May 6 of a new antivenom to treat rattlesnake bites, the two poison control centers in Arizona are on track to begin research into the best utilization of snakebite medicines.
