Where are you from?

Beaverton, OR

What are your personal interests/hobbies?

Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I have come to love hiking, mountain biking, exploring new foods, and travel destinations. I am a huge podcast consumer often at double speed. I also enjoy taking my dog, a Beagle Labrador named Harper to the dog park and for runs. I also enjoy spending time with my amazing wife.

What are your professional interests?

Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, cognitive biases, pediatrics, and wilderness medicine.

Why did you choose UA EM?

I chose UAEM for its location, and for the diversity of training that I would experience. I was excited to work with different populations and disease processes, as well as attendings who might have different perspectives. Additionally I liked the quality improvement processes that were going on here in Tucson.

Favorite activity in Tucson, or what attracted you to Tucson besides the residency program?

Hiking, mountain biking, running, new location, rock and gem show, and excellent food.

What are your non-medical goals during residency?

I would like to become better at rock climbing, as well as continue to run. I would like to explore new restaurants and hiking spots. I also want to pick up some new hobbies. I also plan to hang out with my wife and my Beagledor (Beagle Labrador dog), Harper.
