Where are you from?

Spent most of my life in the Portland Oregon area, but the last four years I have called Tucson home!

What are your personal interests/hobbies?

Like most EM people, I really love outdoor activities like hiking, camping, and riding motorcycles/dirt bikes. Since starting medical school I have really gotten into baking and cake decorating. On most days I really enjoy reading and spending time with my husband, kids, and dog (Rocky).

What are your professional interests?

I have a passion for working with underserved communities first and foremost. Recently Social EM has become a strong interest of mine as well as addiction medicine. I have so many interests beyond that and am so excited to find my niche!

Why did you choose UA EM?

So many reasons!! First and foremost, the people, especially Dr. Stoneking! South Campus has more of a close-knit family feel, that I am drawn to. All of the residents that I worked with on rotations were amazing and so kind and helpful! Everyone is so down-to-earth and so willing to help and support you. I love the patient population and the  blend of academics with a community hospital is perfect for me, my background, and my future career goals!

Favorite activity in Tucson, or what attracted you to Tucson besides the residency program?

I love the weather here! Year-round warm weather, awesome storms during the summer monsoons. The hiking is great and you really can't beat the lack of traffic!

What are your non-medical goals during residency?

-Spend as much quality time with my family as I can! I want to finally be able to utilize my time off to plan fun trips and experience new things with them!
-Continue to do the things I enjoy even when I get busy!
-Make more cupcakes!
