What are your professional interests?

Sports medicine, medical education, and wilderness medicine

Why did you choose UA EM?

The residents and faculty really displayed the close-knit community that I was looking for in a program. After talking to Dr. Stoneking, I knew that this was a program I wanted to be a part of. I love that the program provides a mix of community and academic medicine as well as the opportunity to serve an underserved patient population.

Favorite activity in Tucson, or what attracted you to Tucson besides the residency program?

Growing up, I spent my summers with my family in Southeastern Arizona, so I know there is plenty to see and experience. My wife and I have always loved the sunsets and natural beauty of the Arizona desert. Another thing that attracted me to Tucson is my excitement of showing my two boys all of what I loved here growing up: exploring the beautiful areas, historic sites, and retelling my grandpa’s stories shared during our hikes and camping trips.

What are your non-medical goals during residency?

My non-medical goals during residency include improving my Spanish, spending as much time as possible with my wife and two boys, and staying healthy by exercising regularly.
