Where are you from?

Longview, Texas

What are your personal interests/hobbies?

Going with the classic EM answer with I like anything that gets me outside! Such as rock climbing, mountain biking, hiking with my wife and dog, yoga and cycling.

What are your professional interests?

Wilderness medicine and rural medicine

Why did you choose UA EM?

The moment I came to the pre-interview dinner I had a good feeling about the South Campus EM program! I immediately felt welcomed and heard nothing but good things about the program from the current residents and faculty. That feeling continued to the interview. Not only does this program really care for their residents but they also care a lot for the community as well. Plus there are so many unique aspects to this program such as the rural med rotations, sharing some of your time between community and academic centers and much more!

What do you enjoy doing in Tucson or what attracted you besides the residency program?

So many options for good food and outdoor activities everywhere you look! Plus Tucson is the #1 cyclist friendly city in the United States so that is also a huge plus.

What are your non-medical goals during residency?

Improve my spanish skills, be the best husband I can be to my wife, find as many new restaurants to eat at as possible and see where the closest lake is!
