UA Emergency Medicine has been a leader in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) education and training internationally, nationally and at the local and state level for more than 30 years. The department’s EMS Fellowship Program offers the opportunity for fellows to observe and participate in EMS activities to better understand the hurdles and the challenges EMS providers face in the field, before they reach the doors of an emergency department. Working and training side by side with EMS paramedics and nurses help to build a seamless transition of care from preshospital through to the hospital.
