Two University of Arizona researchers are co-authors of a national report released today to the U.S. Congress and other stakeholders to improve cardiac arrest survival rates.
Care and treatment for patients who suffer cardiac arrests cost Arizona about $660 million each year. Nationwide, that cost is $33 billion, according to the report, "Strategies to Improve Cardiac Arrest Survival: A Time to Act."
The Institute of Medicine, which is part of the National Academy of Sciences, released the report, calling for a "system of care for cardiac arrest." Read more.
