Implementing Pediatric Prehospital Care Guidelines Dramatically Improves Survival in Severe Traumatic Brain Injury
TUCSON, Ariz. — A University of Arizona Health Sciences-led study of prehospital care guidelines for emergency medical services (EMS) providers treating traumatic brain injury (TBI) among children found deaths from severe TBI can be nearly eliminated if the guidelines are adopted, implemented and reinforced by regular review with first responders.
