Day 2 - Tuesday

Good times with alumni, faculty, and residents at the party last night at the Triple Door Musiquarium--an aquarium converted to a live music venue with bar!  Same venue as last Assembly party in Seattle 8 years ago. Great to get everyone back together again!

Second day of Assembly surges forward with record attendance at lectures, workshops, and simulation sessions. Hundreds of exhibitors offer goods and services to EM docs. ACEP announces its participation in "Choosing Wisely" initiative to control health care costs by reducing unnecessary tests and procedures in preparation for federal accountable care plan implementation. Line of the day from research forum on what NOT to do in evidence-based medicine approach:  "We tortured the data until it confessed!" Peter Rosen was at the medical book stall, which prominently featured the latest version of his seminal textbook on emergency medicine. Two more days to go!
