Where are you from?

Hancock, MI

What are your personal interests/hobbies?

Whatever gets me outside, mostly: hiking, biking, skiing / ski mountaineering, gardening, hack river running, wandering desert mountain ranges and remote valleys.

What are your professional interests?

Prehospital care, education, rural medicine, and ultrasound

Why did you choose UA EM?

The faculty were incredibly kind and interested during the interview process; this really stood out on the interview trail. I was also interested in the variety of clinical sites for training and the options for exploring rural medicine.

Favorite activity in Tucson, or what attracted you to Tucson besides the residency program?

The outdoor scene appears excellent and my partner has career opportunities in local parks and national forests. Furthermore, why not explore a new desert?

What are your non-medical goals during residency?

Dabble in canyoneering, grow food at home, explore southwestern public lands: Aravaipa canyon, coyote mountains, gila wilderness, and the apache national forest.
