Where are you from?

I was raised in northern Maryland, but have spent the last 6+ years living on the Gulf Coast with my husband and two cats.

What are your personal interests/hobbies?

I love outdoor activities like hiking, snowboarding, and surfing. I am a big fan of fitness, and enjoy crossfit and lifting heavy weights in my free time. I’m an avid reader and curl up on the couch with a good book and a strong cup of coffee any chance I get.

What are your professional interests?

I have a wide range of interests and can’t wait to find my niche in residency. I am interested in military medicine, sports medicine, medical Spanish, and clinical research.

Why did you choose UA EM?

I felt as if UA SC EM was the best fit from the start, with its supportive, close-knit environment, excellent reputation, and a mix of community and academic medicine. After speaking with faculty, the dedication to resident education was clear. I’m also excited about the opportunity to learn medical Spanish during training!

Favorite activity in Tucson, or what attracted you to Tucson besides the residency program?

The access to hiking and exploring the great outdoors is unparalleled! I also have family ties to the area, and spent several summers in Tucson as a kid.

What are your non-medical goals during residency?

I want to be able to converse in Spanish with patients, explore a plethora of hiking trails, and be able to identify all types of local cacti.
