Where are you from?

Springville, Utah

What are your personal interests/hobbies?

I enjoy exploring with my family, camping, backpacking, mountain biking, and playing disc golf. I am also a fan of anything related to Star Wars, and playing board games.

What are your professional interests?

My professional interests include EMS, Disaster Medicine, and Rural Medicine.

Why did you choose UA EM?

I was looking for a smaller, family-friendly community residency that offered opportunities in academic medicine. During my third year medical school rotations, I fell in love with rural EM and wanted to have more rural EM opportunities. UA EM was the perfect mix of everything I was looking for! In addition, UA EM has a high Spanish-speaking population and integrated language learning during didactics.

Favorite activity in Tucson, or what attracted you to Tucson besides the residency program?

Our family loves the desert, and Tucson offers endless outdoor adventures, excellent biking opportunities, and plenty of sunshine. The communities within a short commute have excellent family amenities and good schools.

What are your non-medical goals during residency?

My non-medical goals during residency are to be the best dad I can be, teach my boys to mountain bike and swim, go on lots of camping trips, and stay physically healthy.
