Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Missoula, MT.

What are your personal interests/hobbies?

I mainly just look to get outside.  Mountain biking, backpacking, skiing, rafting or anything else that gets me outdoors.  I’m also big on live music and traveling whenever possible.  I follow some sports, mainly college basketball and MLB.

What are your professional interests?

Incorporating my medical education into global health and wilderness medicine.

Why did you choose UA EM?

UA is an awesome program in that it provides experiences at both a busy level 1 trauma center and a county/community hospital that sees a lot of underserved patients.  The program has a great reputation for training and producing well-prepared EM physicians that find jobs all over the country, and the staff is extremely supportive of both educational and personal goals.

What's your ideal vacation?

Putting everything I need to live in a backpack, turning off my cell phone, and exploring some mountains and towns in countries I’ve never been to before.

What are your non-medical goals during residency?

My main goals for time outside the hospital are to become as familiar as possible with every mountain bike trail in the Tucson area, hide my skis from myself in my apartment so well that I forget they’re there, and compile a list of the top 10 most solid taquerias Tucson has to offer.
