November 17, 2015

Elaine Situ-LaCasse , MD, PGY-3 in the Emergency Medicine Residency Program University Campus, received an Emergency Medicine Foundation (EMF) Scholarship to the Emergency Medicine Basic Research Skills (EMBRS) Workshop. The workshop is an 11-day, two-session program that provides background in the fundamentals of research. It is designed to help physicians in emergency medicine get started on research. Participants who complete the workshop are eligible to apply for an EMF research grant. “The workshop is geared toward junior faculty and fellows, so it’s a bit unusual for a resident to be accepted into the workshop.  Elaine was fortunate enough not only to be accepted, but she was also fortunate enough to be 1 of 4 EMF scholarship recipients,” said Albert Fiorello, MD, DEM university campus residency director.
