Arthur B. Sanders, MD, professor of emergency medicine, is the recipient of the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) Tenure Award. He will be honored for practicing emergency medicine for 43 years at the Careers in EM meeting at ACEP18 in San Diego.
Dr. Sanders was one of the early EM thought leaders contemplating the impact aging populations would have on our specialty and led the first textbook on the topic in 1996. The Gerson-Sanders Award from ACEP Geriatric EM Section is named in honor of Dr. Sander’s leadership and early innovation.
