Peggy Hatmaker, reimbursement manager, Department of Emergency Medicine (DEM) for the Practice Plan; and Kelly Kellen, revenue cycle director, work to assure the success of DEM revenue cycle in EPIC and have trained their staff to operate successfully.
Peggy served as a resource to reimbursement coordinators in several other departments to provide guidance, and she took a lead in identifying system issues and promptly reporting them to the Epic team and Provider Business Office for fixes.
Kelly organized coding efforts and served as a resource to several department coding directors. She served as a liaison with leading emergency medicine physicians to identify system issues and report them to the Epic team for fixes. Kelly has worked in emergency medicine for 34 years.
Together, with Drs. Lisa Chan and Kevin Reilly, Peggy and Kelly shaped improved alignment of Practice Plan coding and reimbursement efforts and were invaluable in securing efficient pre-accounts receivable revenue cycle operations for DEM. Thank you!
