Sports Medicine Fellowship

Sports Medicine

The University of Arizona Department of Emergency Medicine is proud to offer a one-year fellowship leading to board certification in sports medicine. Fellows work with fellowship-trained sports medicine faculty in the care of injured athletes at the Pac-12 UArizona training facilities and the Arizona Institute for Sports Medicine.

The fellow also will learn key academic skills as an attending physician and faculty member working approximately five shifts per month. This will include bedside and didactic teaching of our excellent residents and medical students. Research opportunities are abundant and include sports concussion, ultrasound diagnostics, kinesiology, advanced training regimens, adolescent and geriatric sports medicine, etc. Fellows will work with athletes of all ages in southern Arizona including Pac-12 intercollegiate athlete, collegiate sport club, UArizona elite dance program, professional soccer, rodeo, and mass event coverage.
