The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Arizona is on the cutting edge in sports medicine. Our physicians help staff the sports medicine clinic at the Arizona Institute for Sports Medicine (AZISM), work as assistant team physicians for the UA Division I intercollegiate athletics, and have leadership roles in the sports medicine fellowship. We have emergency medicine-trained fellows each year who work at all of the clinical sites, including AZISM. We are also very actively involved in research and education and work collaboratively with the departments of Orthopedic Surgery and Family and Community Medicine.
